The Highways and Minor Ports Department (HWMP) on November 13, 2025, issued a notification revising and consolidating the scale of rates under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 1996). Exercising powers under Sections 37 and 38 of the Act, the Department has superseded the earlier Notification No. SRO C-13/2020 dated September 16, 2020.
The revised notification, sanctioned through G.O. Ms. No. 183, prescribes updated rates, charges, and levies applicable across all Minor Ports managed by the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board. These rates are detailed in Sections I to XIV appended to the notification, and may also be levied by any person authorized under Section 32 of the Act. The consolidated revision aims to ensure uniformity, financial viability, and operational efficiency in port management.
The updated scale of rates will come into effect from the date of its publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, ensuring transparency and timely implementation across all concerned port authorities and stakeholders.
