The Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India, on November 12, 2025, issued notification on PMKSY and assisted Food Testing Laboratories.
The following have been stated:-
• To strengthen food testing infrastructure across the country.
• To enhance the availability and accessibility of quality testing facilities for the food processing sector and other stakeholders.
• To reduce the turnaround time (TAT) for the testing and analysis of food samples.
• Time for completion and operationalization of projects will be 24 months from the date of issue of approval letter for projects in General Areas and 30 months for projects in Difficult Areas.
• Delay in Time schedule may be condoned by the Secretary of the Ministry beyond the period as indicated at sub-clause (a) on account of events of force majeure. There shall be commensurate relief towards timelines without deduction in subsidy if such condonation is granted.
