Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (MCF), on November 20, 2025, issued an order rescinding the K Acid (Quality Control) Order, 2024. This action has been taken under Section 16 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016, following consultation with the Bureau of Indian Standards, and is stated to be necessary in the public interest. [Notification No. S.O. 5311(E)]

The rescinded order, originally issued vide S.O. 4926(E) dated November 14, 2024, had introduced mandatory BIS compliance for K Acid, a widely used dye intermediate. The current rescission removes these compulsory quality control requirements with immediate effect.

As a result of this order, the regulated community involved in manufacturing, importing, and trading K Acid is no longer bound by the earlier quality control mandate. The rescission becomes effective immediately upon issuance.
