The Andaman & Nicobar Administration on November 12, 2025, notified regarding the Public and Restricted Holiday Schedule for Andaman & Nicobar Islands – Calendar Year 2026.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has issued the official list of Public Holidays for 2026, including major national, cultural, and religious occasions such as Republic Day, Holi, Id-ul-Fitr, Independence Day, Dussehra, Diwali, and Christmas, with some dates subject to moon sightings.
• Additionally, government employees may avail any two Restricted Holidays from a separate approved list covering regional, cultural, and community-specific observances.
• This notification follows directives issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Personnel and Training to standardize holiday implementation across government offices.
