Labour ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on November 14, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Index Numbers of Wholesale Price in India for the Month of October, 2025

The following has been stated namely: -

• India’s WPI inflation for October 2025 fell to 1.21%, turning more negative from 0.13% in September 2025, mainly due to lower prices of food articles, crude petroleum and natural gas, electricity, mineral oils, and basic metals.

• Overall WPI declined 0.06% MoM in October 2025. Primary Articles fell 0.42%, Manufactured Products fell 0.07%, while Fuel & Power rose 1.12%.

• The Food Index remained unchanged at 192.0 MoM, but its YoY inflation sharply dropped to –5.04% from –1.99% in September. Primary Articles inflation declined further to –6.18% YoY, driven by steep falls in vegetables, pulses, onions, and crude petroleum.

• Despite a 1.12% MoM increase (due to higher electricity and mineral oil prices), the group remained in deflation at –2.55% YoY.

• The index eased slightly to 145.1 (–0.07% MoM), with price declines in basic metals, chemicals, and non-metallic minerals, while textiles, food products, electronics, electrical equipment, and wood products showed increases.
