The Transport Department, Puducherry on October 31, 2025, issued the notification regarding the TD - TP3 - Payment of Bilateral Tax to Tamil Nadu based Goods Carriage plying inside U.T of Puducherry.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Transport Department services has migrated to online “Faceless Service” mode for public convenience.
• The Counter Signature Permit for Goods Carriages has already been shifted to the Vahan 4.0 platform since 2024.
• Fees and bilateral tax payments will also be collected through Vahan 4.0, and because the online tax receipt includes the tax validity period, no physical tax sticker or departmental endorsement is required
• Until the online tax payment facility becomes fully operational, bilateral tax should be collected at cash counters.
• Goods carriage operators must use the online/receipt-based proof of bilateral tax payment as the sole valid acknowledgment during inspections or enforcement, with no additional endorsement needed.
