The Government of Assam on October 26, 2025, issued the Assam (Non-Gazetted) Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2025, further to amend the Assam (Non-Gazetted) Fire Service Rules, 1993.
This shall take effect on October 29, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 2 clause (c) shall be substituted - "Recruitment Board" means the State Level Police Recruitment Board.
• In rule 6, for the words and punctuation mark "Selection Board/Commission" wherever they occur, the words "Recruitment Board" shall be substituted.
• In rule 10 (1), in clause (e) sub-clause (i), the words and punctuation marks "to the cadre Fireman, Leading Fireman and Sub-Officer, as the case may be," appearing in between the words 'promotion' and 'alongwith' shall be deleted.
• In Schedule-II, in column 2, the entries against "Driver" shall be substituted with “HSLC passed and must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle driving license from a recognized authority."
