The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, on November 24, 2025, issued a public consultation on the National Integrated CGB Promotion Scheme (NICPS).
The following has been stated:
• NICPS aims to integrate four existing schemes under the overall coordination of MoPNG, the nodal ministry for CBG under the GOBARdhan initiative:
a. CFA – Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
b. MDA – Department of Fertilizers (DoF)
c. DPI – Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG)
d. BAM – Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG)
• The integration will streamline CBG production, marketing, and infrastructure development.
i) MNRE and DoF will continue managing the financial/administrative liabilities of ongoing CFA and MDA schemes.
ii) MoPNG will handle scheme operations, monitoring, and inter-ministerial coordination.
• A concept note on NICPS has been attached for review.
