The Government of Tripura, on November 21, 2025, notified the Tripura Water & Sewer (Tariff and Metering) Regulations, 2025, to amend the Tripura Water & Sewer (Tariff and Metering) Regulations, 2021.
The following has been stated: -
•Clause (e) of regulation 3 shall be substituted with the amendment that allows one commercial digital-metered water connection for each cooperative group housing society/apartment complex, subject to technical feasibility.
•A feasibility study must confirm the availability of sufficient drinking water.
The housing society must build its own ground-level reservoir based on the 135 LPCD requirement.
•All tariffs, connection fees, and pipeline extension costs will be paid by the society as per Tripura Jal Board norms.
They shall come into force from November 21, 2025.
