The Government of West Bengal on November 27, 2025, issued the List of Holidays for 2026.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Holiday listed in List-I is the Public Holidays in 2026 under the N. I. Act such as: -
o Birthday of Swami Vivekananda – January 12, Monday
o Netaji's Birthday – January 23, Friday
• The Holiday listed in List-II is the Holidays under the order of State Government in 2026 such as: -
o Day before Saraswati Puja – January 22, Thursday
o Shab-e-Barat – February 04, Wednesday
• The Holiday listed in List-III is the Holidays under the Sectional Holidays in 2026 such as: -
o Easter Saturday – April 04, Saturday [for Christians only]
o Hul Diwas – June 30, Tuesday [for Adibasi (Santhal) only]
• Sundays are holidays under the Negotiable Instrument Act.
• The General instructions to be followed in all types of holidays including holidays for the muslim festivals has been stated.
