The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on November 24, 2025, issued the Food Safety and Standards (Alcoholic Beverages) Second Amendment Regulations, 2025 to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Alcoholic Beverages) Regulations, 2018.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Food Safety and Standards (Alcoholic Beverages) Regulations, 2018, in Table 2, against S.No 7 relating to “Esters expressed as ethyl acetate (g/l of absolute alcohol), Max” in the entry under column (7), for the figures “0.2” the figures “3.0” shall be substituted.
They shall come into force on June 01, 2026.
