Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra, on November 27, 2025, issued a notification regarding the procedure for Transit Permits for Minor Forest Produce as per the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, Rules 2008 & Amendments 2012.

The following has been stated: -

•Maharashtra cancels previous Forest Department orders on Minor Forest Produce transport permits due to conflict with Gram Sabha rights under the FRA.

•Exclusive authority for printing and issuing MFP Transit Permits is now vested in Gram Sabhas.

•A uniform TP format and detailed procedures for printing, numbering, and distribution are prescribed.

•Copies must be submitted to check-posts and forest offices, with provisions for future digital/QR-based systems.
