The PIB Headquarters on November 28, 2025, issued a notification regarding Labour Codes delivering major reforms for Dock Workers.
The following has been stated: -
•The new Labour Codes and updated maritime laws mandate compulsory dock registration, ensuring legal recognition and stronger worker protections.
•All dock workers—including contract and temporary staff—now receive universal social security coverage such as PF, pension, and insurance.
•Digital processes, stricter safety standards, and employer-funded health measures modernize dock operations and improve welfare.
•These reforms create safer, regulated, and equitable maritime workplaces aligned with global standards.
