Finance & Taxation Compliance class="MsoNormal">The Department of Power, Govt. of Goa, on November 21, 2025, notified regarding the levy of public lighting duty on unit of energy consumed.

The following has been stated namely: -

The Government of Goa, using its powers under the Goa Public Lighting Duty Act, 2021, has imposed a public lighting duty on electricity consumption. The duty will be charged at the rates specified in Schedule-A for different consumer categories. This duty will take effect from October 01, 2025, and will be recovered through regular electricity bills
