The Electronics & Information Technology Department, Govt. of Odisha on September 09, 2025, issued the Odisha Information Technology (IT) Policy – 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Odisha IT Policy 2025 replaces the 2022 version and comes into force from its gazette notification date.
• All IT/ITeS units that begin operations after the policy notification — including newly-registered start-ups — become eligible for the incentives and support under this policy.
• IT/ITeS units that expanded during the period under the old policy but did not claim benefits earlier can now claim incentives retrospectively, subject to fulfilment of specified conditions.
• However, units cannot avail incentives under more than one sectoral policy; and start-ups eligible under the state’s separate Startup Policy cannot claim overlapping benefits under both policies.
• The detailed eligibility criteria, modalities for incentives, and operational guidelines will be spelled out separately — indicating a structured, transparent approach to promoting technology, innovation, and IT infrastructure in Odisha.
