Labour ComplianceThe Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on November 28, 2025, notified regarding the revised standard specifications of the MRI Machine 3.0 Tesla.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has issued revised standard specifications for 3.0 Tesla MRI machines — updating and superseding its earlier 2024 specifications — after review by a committee of internal and external experts to ensure patient/staff safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

• The revised guidelines fix the estimated cost at ₹35 crore (excluding GST, turnkey components, and CMC) for the supply of a full 3 T MRI system.

• All ESIC hospitals and medical institutions must follow these updated specs when procuring MRI machines; procurement must comply with broader ESIC procurement norms, including infrastructure, manpower availability, budget approval, and procurement procedures (GeM/GFR/CVC/MII).

• Institutions are urged to perform a cost-benefit analysis and ensure appropriateness (bed strength, facility load, etc.) before opting for a 3.0 T system — allowing flexibility for “generic technical modifications” depending on local need and constraints.
