Industry Specific Compliance The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on November 28, 2025, issued the Reserve Bank of India (Universal Banks- Licensing) Guidelines, 2025.

The following has been stated namely: -

• RBI finalised and released the new framework on August 01, 2016, for granting licences for universal banks on a continuous basis. These guidelines have been updated with revised instructions in this area.

• The Guidelines for Eligible Promoters, Corporate Structure, etc. has been stated.

• The Procedure for application has been stated.
