The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on November 28, 2025, issued a circular regarding the validations for Processing Transmission Request through Upload.
The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), through its earlier communiqués dated July 24, 2025, July 30, 2025, and October 20, 2025, had notified Depository Participants (DPs) about changes in the file format for Nomination Phase III and the revised phased go-live timelines. Following discussions with Back-Office Vendors, CDSL has now issued clarifications on validations required for the smooth implementation of the transmission of securities, as detailed in Annexure 1.
Under the revised process enabled through the new UDIFF format, DPs are no longer required to manually enter the quantity of securities to be transmitted to each nominee. Instead, the system will automatically compute and allocate the quantities based on the percentage share assigned by the original holder. Any quantity entered manually by the DP during transmission will be ignored, and only the system-generated quantity will be considered.
DPs are advised to take note of these clarifications and refer to the UDIFF Catalogue v2.0.0.4.1 and available sample files on the CDSL website (Harmonization section). Necessary changes must be incorporated into their back-office software to ensure seamless compliance with the updated transmission mechanism.
