The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG) on December 01, 2025, issued a notification regarding the improvements under the PAHAL (DBTL) LPG Subsidy Scheme.
The following has been stated: -
•PAHAL ensures direct transfer of LPG subsidies to consumers’ bank accounts, improving transparency and eliminating ghost or duplicate connections.
•Aadhaar-based and biometric authentication have strengthened beneficiary verification, with 69% PMUY users authenticated as of Nov 2025.
•Large-scale de-duplication and weeding out of ineligible users have led to the termination of lakhs of inactive or duplicate LPG connections.
•Third-party evaluation shows 90% consumer satisfaction, with continued government focus on better targeting, subsidy transfer efficiency, and grievance redressal.
