The Maharashtra Housing & Area Development Authority (MHADA) on November 18, 2025, issued a notification regarding consultation on the Draft Maharashtra State Rental Housing Policy.
The following has been stated: -
•MHADA will present and discuss the draft Maharashtra State Rental Housing Policy on November 19, 2025, to boost rental housing, especially in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
•Prepared under the guidance of the Chief Minister, the policy aims to support migrant workers, students, women, and senior citizens, aligning with NITI Aayog’s “Housing for All” vision.
•MMR has been designated a Growth Hub, with a target of 30 lakh affordable homes by 2030, of which MHADA will develop 8 lakh.
•Stakeholders are invited to provide suggestions to make the policy more effective and people-centric.
