The Labour Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, on November 24, 2025, issued a notification regarding amendments granting exemptions for establishments under the Delhi Shops & Establishments Act, 1954.
•The Delhi Government has amended Schedule I of the Delhi Shops & Establishments Act, 1954, to add new exemption entries.
•Entry 301 grants exemption under Section 14 for all establishments except liquor shops, allowing employment of women at night with written consent and strict safety conditions.
•Employers must provide CCTV, transport, safe facilities, and comply with the POSH Act.
•Entry 302 exempts all shops and commercial establishments (except liquor shops) under Sections 15 and 16 of the Act.
