The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on November 28, issued the Reserve Bank of India (All India Financial Institutions – Credit Facilities) Directions, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It aims to standardize and strengthen credit-related practices across all-India financial institutions (AIFIs) such as EXIM Bank, NABARD, SIDBI, NHB, and NaBFID.
• These directions encompass comprehensive guidelines on project financing, non-fund-based credit facilities like guarantees and co-acceptances, digital lending arrangements, and the use of partial credit enhancement for bond issues.
• They also address restrictions on financing for non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and infrastructure projects, emphasizing prudent appraisal and monitoring processes.
• The directions target to harmonize credit policies, enhance risk management, and ensure transparency and accountability in credit operations within AIFIs.
• This shall come into force from November 28, 2025.
