EHS ComplianceThe Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), on November 29, 2025, notified regarding a clarification regarding distance criteria for M sand, Rock dust, and Rock sand godown.

The following amendment has been stated namely:-

• It was decided that pollution control measures and siting criteria for these units are to be revised. Accordingly, the following pollution control measures are mandated for all M Sand, Rock dust, Rock Sand godowns, irrespective of storage capacity 

• Loading and unloading activities shall be carried out in an area enclosed by a suitable material to mitigate dust and noise pollution. 

• Sprinkler facility shall be installed for controlling dust during loading and unloading operations. 

• Details of the material handled (name, quantity, etc.) should be recorded daily in the logbook. 

• The roads inside the compound wall shall be tarred or concreted, and necessary arrangements shall be made to drain off wastewater from the washing of vehicle tyres.

•  The material shall be transported in properly covered vehicles. 

• All M Sand, Rock dust, Rock Sand godown irrespective of storage capacity shall obtain Consent of Board under Green Category henceforth.
