The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), on November 26, 2025, has computed the ceiling price for Human normal Solution for infusion 10% per mL under the Drug Price Control Order (DPCO), 2013, using October 2023 MAT and PTR data. The exercise considered a total MAT of ₹32,24,60,278 (100%), three packs, a sum of MAT-weighted PTR per unit of ₹524.97 and an average PTR of ₹174.99. The current ceiling price stood at ₹264.57 per mL; after applying a 16% retailer margin and the prescribed methodology, the ceiling price (without GST) was computed in stages with WPI adjustments to arrive at a final ceiling price (without GST) of ₹206.53 per mL.
The NPPA’s computation notes the intermediate steps: sum of MAT value 3,202.52 (in lakhs), sum of PTR per unit 524.97, and per-unit PTR considered ₹174.99. An Event/Statutory adjustment produced a provisional ceiling (without GST) of ₹202.99, followed by WPI increases (0.00551% w.e.f. 01.04.2024 and 1.74028% w.e.f. 01.04.2025) resulting in the final ceiling (without GST) of ₹206.53. This represents a 21.94% reduction from the previously notified ceiling and a 19.62% reduction compared to the highest price reference used in the calculation; the computed minimum and maximum prices across considered brands were ₹153.64 and ₹217.69 respectively.
