The Government of Jharkhand, on November 04, 2025, issued a notification regarding interim directions for Strengthening Legal Metrology Enforcement.
The following has been stated: -
•The Jharkhand Government has issued directions for Legal Metrology Officers due to major vacancies affecting enforcement, revenue collection, and implementation of key rules.
•All officers, including Joint, Deputy, and Assistant Controllers, along with Inspectors, must now perform verification, stamping, and all enforcement duties under the Controller's supervision.
•Prior approval from the Controller/Joint Controller is mandatory before prosecution or compounding actions.
•These directions remain in force until Inspector vacancies are filled, and earlier conflicting orders stand modified.
