Industry Specific ComplianceThe Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) on November 27, 2025, notified the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Conduct of Business) (First Amendment) (4 of 2025) Regulations, 2007 to amend the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 2007.

The following has been stated: -

•Regulation 10 sets quorum requirements, allowing proceedings with two Members or even one in case of vacancies, and Regulation 10A ensures proceedings remain valid despite vacancies.

•Regulation 12(3) mandates advertisement of tariff petitions in specified newspapers and uploading them on the petitioner’s website until disposal.

•Regulation 12 also allows the Commission to require the publication of any petition or document and seek public comments.

•Regulation 15(e) permits service of notices by electronic means, and Regulation 18(3) requires all orders to be signed and dated, with only clerical errors allowed to be corrected.

•They shall come into force on November 27, 2025.
