Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Govt. of Mizoram on November 24, 2025, issued a notice on the Drone Rules, 2021.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The public notice reminds residents and operators that drone usage shall comply with the Drone Rules, 2021. Airspace has been classified into Green, Yellow, and Red Zones, where Green Zones allow drone operations without prior approval, Yellow Zones require prior permission, and Red Zones strictly prohibit drone operations unless specifically authorized by the Government of India.

• Sensitive areas in Aizawl—such as Raj Bhavan, the Legislative Assembly, Police Headquarters, Defence establishments, and government complexes—fall under the Red Zone. 

• Unauthorized drone activity, especially in restricted areas, may result in legal action and penalties of up to ₹1,00,000. Operators are advised to check the Digital Sky Platform for approved zones and operate in a responsible manner.
