Labour Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Government of Meghalaya, on November 13, 2025, issued a notification partially modifying an earlier notification dated February 13, 2025, concerning service delivery provisions related to the Office of the Labour Commissioner. The amendment specifically concerns the processing timeline for registration of establishments under the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979.

Under the revised provision, the designated authorities—Labour Commissioner, Deputy Labour Commissioners, and Assistant Labour Commissioners—shall process applications for registration of establishments within 30 working days from the date of receipt. The Principal Secretary or Secretary of the Labour, Employment & Skill Development Department is designated as the Appellate Authority for such matters.

This notification supersedes the corresponding provision in the earlier notification to the extent amended, ensuring greater clarity and predictability in service delivery timelines for stakeholder establishments.
