The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB), on August 26, 2025, issued an office order superseding its earlier directive dated November 23, 2023, regarding the minimum plot area requirement for establishing continuous tyre pyrolysis units. The new order revises siting norms to ensure stricter environmental safeguards and better land-use regulation for such units.
Under the revised framework, all new applications for Consent to Establish (CTE) for continuous tyre pyrolysis plants will be permitted only within designated industrial zones/areas. Applications submitted after the issuance of this order will not be considered if the proposed site lies outside such designated industrial areas, thereby withdrawing the earlier allowance for units on plots larger than 15,000 sq. metres in non-industrial locations.
All other conditions and procedural stipulations prescribed in the RSPCB Office Order dated August 17, 2023, remain fully applicable to new CTE applications. The revised order takes effect immediately and applies prospectively to all future proposals.
