The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on December 03, 2025, notified regarding the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) - Submission of ‘LRS Daily Return’ by Authorised Dealers- Category -II banks/entities and Full - Fledged Money Changers.
The Reserve Bank of India has expanded the reporting requirements for the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS). Earlier, only AD Category-I banks were required to submit the LRS daily return on the Centralised Information Management System (CIMS), including details of LRS transactions carried out by attached AD Category-II entities and FFMCs.
RBI has now decided that AD Category-II banks/entities and FFMCs will also directly submit the LRS daily return on CIMS. This will allow them to verify the cumulative PAN-wise LRS remittances made by individuals during the financial year before processing new transactions. Submission of the return (including nil return, where applicable) will be mandatory from January 01, 2026, after which they may stop routing LRS data through AD Category-I banks.
All authorised persons must follow the instructions provided in the CIMS User Manual, and newly on-boarded AD Category-II entities/FFMCs may seek assistance from the RBI’s Foreign Exchange Department for any issues. The Master Direction on FEMA reporting will be updated accordingly. The circular is issued under Sections 10(4) and 11(2) of FEMA, 1999.
