The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) on December 03, 2025, issued the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Twelfth Amendment Order, 2025, further to amend the Fertiliser (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Order, 1985.
This shall come into force from December 04, 2025.
The following has been amended, namely: -
• The amendment introduces new product standards and regulatory provisions under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. It specifies requirements for Organic Carbon Enhancers derived from compressed biogas plants and outlines sampling and testing procedures through designated regional laboratories.
• Several new fertiliser grades, including NPK blends, fortified fertilisers, and liquid formulations like Potassium Acetate and Liquid Potassium Carbonate, have been added with defined nutrient compositions and physical standards.
• Changes are also made in tolerance limits, terminology, forms (J, K, and L-1), and sampling timelines, replacing “three days” with “three working days.”
