Secretarial ComplianceThe National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE) on December 05, 2025, issued a circular revising the framework governing recovery of overdue amounts and withdrawal of trading facilities, superseding aspects of the earlier Circular No. NSE/F&A/2571 dated May 29, 2001. The revised mechanism aims to enhance operational ease for trading members.

Key provisions include automated recovery of overdue dues (other than for Banks and Primary Dealers) from monthly pay-outs when payments remain outstanding for over a month. Where available funds are insufficient and dues exceed ₹1 lakh for one month, the Exchange will issue a recovery notice granting one week for payment. If dues above ₹5 lakh remain unrecovered, an additional notice will be issued warning of withdrawal of trading facilities, again with one week’s payment window.

Members may request additional time for reconciliation—up to 45 days—subject to case-by-case approval by the Chief Business Development Officer. Failure to clear dues within the stipulated or extended timelines will result in withdrawal of trading facilities, which will be restored only upon full payment of outstanding amounts. The revised framework will be effective January 1, 2026.
