The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), on December 05, 2025, issued the Pradhan Mantri formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
The following has been stated namely:-
• The details of financial assistance provided under PMFME Scheme for technical/technological support , capacity building/training , market linkage and awareness are as follows:
• Assistance to individual/group category micro enterprises: Credit-linked capital subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost , maximum limit Rs 10 lakh per unit ;
• Assistance to Self Help Groups for Seed Capital: Seed capital at the rate of Rs. 40,000 will be provided to each member of Self Help Groups engaged in food processing for working capital and purchase of small equipment, subject to a maximum of Rs. 4 lakh per Self Help Group federation .
• Support for Shared Infrastructure: A loan-based capital subsidy of 35% , up to a maximum of ₹ 3 crore, will be provided to assist FPOs , self-help groups , cooperatives, and any government agency to set up shared infrastructure . The shared infrastructure will also be available to other entities and the public , allowing them to use it on a rental basis for a substantial portion of their capacity.
• Branding and Marketing Support: Up to 50% grant for branding and marketing to FPOs/SHGs/Cooperative groups or SPVs of micro food processing enterprises.
• Capacity Building: The scheme envisages training for food processing industry and modified Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) to meet the requirement of product specific skills.
