The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) on December 05, 2025, issued review of Stakeholder Feedback on the Draft Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023.
The draft Broadcasting Services (Regulation) Bill, 2023 (BSR Bill) was released for public consultation on November 10, 2023, inviting comments from the public and stakeholders initially until December 09, 2023. This deadline was later extended to January 15, 2024.
Following extensive inputs from various stakeholders, including media and entertainment industry bodies, the Government further extended the consultation period until October 15, 2024 to enable broader participation.
After reviewing all submissions, the Minister affirmed that the Government remains committed to undertaking wide and comprehensive stakeholder consultations before finalizing the Bill.
