Secretarial ComplianceThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on December 05, 2025, issued a Consultation Paper on Review of Master Circular for Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and Designated Depository Participants (DDPs).

The following has been stated namely: -

• SEBI has proposed an updated and simplified Master Circular to consolidate all guidelines applicable to Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and Designated Depository Participants (DDPs), replacing the previous circular from May 2024. 

• It streamlines compliance requirements by eliminating duplications, simplifying language, and aligning provisions issued through various circulars since May 2024.

• The revised framework aims to enhance ease of doing business, improve regulatory clarity, and ensure effective monitoring of foreign investment limits for better investor protection.
