The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) notified on December 5, 2025, regarding the extension of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025, to the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
In the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025, so extended to the Union territory of Chandigarh, ౼
• for the words "State Government" wherever they occur, the words "Union territory of Chandigarh" shall be substituted;
• after the words, brackets and figures "the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025" wherever they occur, the words "as extended to the Union territory of Chandigarh" shall be inserted.
