The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, on November 18, 2025, notified regarding the mandatory display of the Child Helpline 1098 on the walls or display boards of all government/semi-government/service institutions.
The following has been stated namely:-
• The Mission Vatsalya Scheme being implemented also serves as a means to prioritise child development and protection, and is giving greater emphasis to safeguarding children who are in distress and facing challenges. Child Helpline 1098 plays a significant role in identifying such children, sharing information during crisis situations, and providing rehabilitation services.
• Wide publicity of this helpline number will ensure immediate response to various child-related issues including child marriage, child labour, and protection of children in distress.
• Accordingly, the Commission has instructed that suitable directions be issued to mandatorily display the Child Helpline number in a permanent manner on all buildings belonging to government, semi-government, educational institutions and private service institutions in the State.
• Therefore, all offices/hospitals under the Department of Health and Family Welfare are hereby directed to permanently display Child Helpline 1098 within their premises through wall writing or a display board.
