The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on December 05, 2025, issued the notification regarding the approval of Export Promotion Mission to boost MSMEs and first-time exporters
The following has been stated namely: -
• The government is enhancing logistics infrastructure and streamlining processes through initiatives like EPM, BTN, District Export Hubs, E-commerce Export Hubs, National Logistics Policy, and PM Gati Shakti to reduce delays, costs, and supply-chain challenges for exporters.
• A 100% credit guarantee is provided through NCGTC, enabling exporters, including MSMEs—to access ₹20,000 crore in additional credit, improving liquidity and supporting smooth business operations.
• Export Promotion Mission (EPM): With an outlay of ₹25,060 crore (FY 2025–31), EPM strengthens export competitiveness, especially for MSMEs and first-time exporters, by replacing fragmented schemes with a single, flexible, results-based framework.
• International Cooperation Scheme: MSMEs receive reimbursement-based assistance for participation in international trade fairs, conferences, and B2B meets, along with reimbursements for RCMC, insurance premiums, testing, and certification to support first-time exporters.
• Industrial Corridor Incentives (NICDP): State SPVs offer MSMEs benefits such as land allotment flexibility, concessions, early-bird discounts, and differential lease tenures, promoting investment-friendly industrial ecosystems.
• Marine Export Support (MPEDA): The TDSVMP scheme provides priority financial assistance to MSME seafood exporters for value-addition infrastructure, strengthening the marine product export ecosystem.
• Bharat Trade Net (BTN): A major digital infrastructure to digitize 30 key trade documents, enable global-standard paperless trade, reduce compliance costs, integrate export finance systems, and enhance MSME competitiveness.
• ECGC Support Measures: Includes collateral-free working capital up to ₹10 crore, 90% advanced cover for export credit up to ₹50 crore, 90% cover for MSME bank accounts up to ₹80 crore, 100% cover for direct policyholders, simplified claim settlement, and premium refunds under the CBFTE scheme.
• Market Diversification & Ratings Upgrade: The government promotes trade with Africa and Latin America through institutional engagement; ECGC has upgraded country ratings for 24 markets to lower insurance costs and encourage exporters to explore emerging markets.
• Support for Traditional Export Sectors: Schemes like SPICED (Spices Board), Coir Vikas Yojana (Coir Board), NHDP & Raw Material Scheme (Handlooms), and SFURTI enhance value addition, technology adoption, market development, competitiveness, and sustainable livelihoods in traditional industries.
