Labour ComplianceThe Government of Kerala on December 02, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Public Holiday due to General Election.

The following has been stated namely: -

December 09, 2025: Holiday in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam.

December 11, 2025: Holiday in Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.

• Employees who are voters in a polling constituency but working in a district without a holiday may take Other Duty or Special Leave (except CL, Commuted, Earned Leave) with proof of voter status.

• Under Kerala Panchayat Raj Act and Municipality Act, all private-sector employees who are voters must be given a paid holiday on the polling day.

• Employers must ensure no wage cut or deduction for employees receiving the election holiday, even if otherwise unpaid.

• Daily-wage/casual workers who are voters but working outside their polling constituency must also be given a paid holiday on the election day.
