The Pune Municipal Corporation on December 02, 2025, notified regarding the Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) Prevention as per Government Guidelines.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) has become a major public health concern due to the misuse and overuse of antibiotics, making treatments for infections more difficult, expensive, and risky. Citizens are advised to follow government guidelines, including maintaining good hygiene, using clean water, completing vaccinations on time, and avoiding self-medication with antibiotics, especially for viral illnesses such as colds and fevers.
• Antibiotics should be taken only on a doctor’s prescription, and the full course shall be completed without sharing or reusing leftover medicines.
• The Health Department urges responsible medicine use to prevent AMR and safeguard future healthcare effectiveness.
