The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) on December 09, 2025, notified regarding the implementation of Schemes for Modernisation, Digitisation and Export Facilitation in the MSME Sector.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) is implementing several schemes aimed at promoting technology upgradation, digitization, and competitiveness among MSMEs. Key initiatives include the MSE–Cluster Development Programme, Technology Centres/Tool Rooms, the Green Investment Financing Scheme, and the MSME Champions Scheme, all of which support modernization, skill enhancement, access to advanced and green technologies, and improved productivity. Digitization efforts are being strengthened through platforms such as the Udyam Portal, MSME Champions Portal, GeM, TReDS, MSME Mart, MSME Sambandh, and the Online Dispute Resolution Portal.
To expand access to technology and skilled resources, the Ministry is establishing 20 new Technology Centers and 100 Extension Centers under the "Establishment of New Technology Centers/Extension Centers" scheme. These centres aim to provide localized technological solutions and advisory services, improving MSME competitiveness at the grassroots level. Among the approved locations, two centres will be set up in aspirational districts—Gaya (Bihar) and Bokaro (Jharkhand).
Additionally, the Ministry has set up 65 Export Facilitation Centres (EFCs) across its field offices, Technology Centres, and Testing Centres to guide MSMEs in enhancing their export capabilities and global market readiness.
