Labour ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra on December 09, 2025, declared local holiday for all the government/semi-government offices in Mumbai and Mumbai suburban districts.

The Government Circular (General Administration Department No. Sarvasu-1196/Pr.No.5/96/29 dated 18 September 1996) provides for the declaration of a local holiday each year in Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban Districts on the occasions of Anant Chaturdashi and, since 2007, Gopalkala (Dahihandi). In accordance with this policy, local holidays for the year 2026 are declared as follows:

• Gopalkala (Dahihandi): September 05, 2026 (Saturday) — 14th Bhadrapad, Shaka 1948

• Anant Chaturdashi: September 25, 2026 (Friday) — 03 Ashwin, Shaka 1948

These orders apply to all State Government and Semi-Government offices located in Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban District.
