Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on December 08, 2025 issued a price-fixation order under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO 2013) for a formulation containing Sodium Chloride, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Acetate Trihydrate, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate, Dextrose Monohydrate, and pH-adjusting agents, manufactured and marketed by M/s Otsuka Pharmaceuticals India Pvt. Ltd.

NPPA calculated the worked-out retail price using March 2025 data as per the methodology of the Pronab Sen Committee. The derived retail price of Multiple Electrolyte Type 1 USP was assessed at ₹124.28, and the derived retail price of Dextrose Monohydrate IP 5000 mg at ₹12.10. After deducting 20% of the lower of the two components (₹2.42), the final worked-out retail price was computed as ₹133.97 per 100 mL pack. Since this figure is lower than the company’s claimed retail price of ₹150.00, NPPA adopted ₹133.97 as the proposed retail price.

The computation was supported by PTR data from IPDMS for electrolyte components and a formula-based calculation for dextrose per Pronab Sen Committee recommendations. This price fixation is issued under the authority of DPCO 2013 to regulate retail prices of essential medicines.
