The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on December 05, 2025, notified the establishment of amendments to several Indian Standards under Rule 15(1) of the BIS Rules, 2018. These amendments introduce technical updates and refinements across standards relating to steel sheets, tyre bead wire, and moulds used for cement and concrete testing.
The amendments, all issued as Amendment No. 1 or No. 2 (December 2025), apply to the following standards: IS 648:2022 (Cold Rolled Non-Oriented Electrical Steel Sheet and Strip), IS 4824:2022 (Bead Wire for Tyres), IS 10086:2021 (Moulds for Cement, Concrete and Pozzolana Tests), and IS 17404:2020 (Electrogalvanized Carbon Steel Sheets and Strips). Each amendment was formally established on 04 December 2025.
BIS has clarified that earlier versions of these standards—without the December 2025 amendments—shall remain valid only until 03 June 2026, after which the amended versions will be fully operative.
