The Ministry of Cooperation, on December 10, 2025, issued a notification regarding the Cooperative Ranking Framework.
The following has been stated: -
•A new ranking framework, launched on January 24, 2025, uses the National Cooperative Database (NCD) to rank primary cooperative societies by sector and geography.
•It enhances transparency, efficiency, and credibility by allowing State/UT Registrars of Cooperative Societies to evaluate societies on audit compliance, operations, finances, infrastructure, and basic details (a total of 100 points).
•The framework empowers cooperatives with performance insights, benchmarks, and opportunities for innovation and improvement.
•It also promotes the sharing of best practices from top-performing cooperatives across regions.
