The Lok Sabha on December 10, 2025, issued the Regulation of Deep Fake Bill, 2024.
The following has been stated: -
•It’s a bill to regulate the creation and use of deepfake technology, ensuring legal boundaries for its application and for matters connected therewith.
•Section 2 lays down various definitions of terms like appropriate Government and deepfake.
•Section 3 specifies Recognition of the creation and sharing of deepfakes (s) as a criminal offence.
•Section 4 specifies the Establishment of the Deepfake Task Force.
