The Government of Goa, on December 11, 2025, issued a notification regarding the prohibition on indoor Fireworks in Tourist Establishments.
The following has been stated: -
•The District Magistrate, South Goa, has banned all indoor use of fireworks, pyrotechnics, flame/smoke effects, and similar devices in tourist establishments across the district due to serious fire and safety risks.
•The order applies to nightclubs, bars, hotels, beach shacks, event venues, and similar establishments, with permission allowed only in exceptional cases with a detailed safety plan.
•The order is effective from December 09, 2025, for 60 days, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
•Any violation is punishable under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and enforcement will be carried out by police and district authorities.
