Industry Specific ComplianceThe Paradip Port Authority (PPA) December 10, 2025 issued an Office Order on December 10, 2025, following the approval of its Board under Resolution No. 159/2025-26 dated December 3, 2025. The order introduces a revised productivity norm for handling scrap cargo across multiple berths at the port. The decision has been taken to optimise operational efficiency and ensure uniform performance standards across terminals handling scrap.

Under the new directive, the Board has fixed the productivity norm for scrap at 3,000 MT per day for vessels handled at berths CQ-1, CQ-2, SQ, MPB, NQ2, and NQ3. The order clarifies that the existing incentive/penalty rates, calculation methodology, and all other terms and conditions applicable under the Performance Norm framework will continue unchanged. These provisions ensure consistency in monitoring, rewards, and compliance while adapting productivity benchmarks to current operational requirements.

The revised norm becomes effective from December 3, 2025, and will remain applicable until March 31, 2026, subject to review thereafter based on operational needs. The measure is intended to enhance throughput performance while maintaining accountability mechanisms for port users and service providers.
