The Transport Department, West Bengal on December 05, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Revised Application Authority for Renewal of Stage Carriage Buses Over 15 Years
The following has been stated namely: -
• The West Bengal Government has permitted renewal of registration and permits for stage carriage buses over 15 years old.
• Earlier, applicants in districts (excluding Kolkata Zone) were directed to apply only to the District Magistrate and Chairman, RTA.
• After reviewing stakeholder requests, the Government now allows applications to be submitted to either the District Magistrate & Chairman, RTA, the Additional District Magistrate (Motor Vehicles), or the Regional Transport Officer of the concerned district.
