Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Heavy Industry (MoHI) on December 09, 2025, notified regarding the Installation of EV charging stations.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It provides details on the establishment and expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure under the Government’s policy framework. EV charging stations (including battery swap/charging points) are designated as a license-free activity, allowing manufacturers, private firms, and institutions to install and operate them nationwide. 

• Under the PM E-Drive Scheme, ₹2,000 crore has been allocated to support public EV charging infrastructure across cities and highways, with capital subsidies for eligible entities based on location categories. 

• The scheme’s implementation will be coordinated through nominated nodal agencies, and subsidies cover both upstream infrastructure and charging equipment in line with BIS/BEE standards.
